Social Security Number와 더불어 Driver License는 미국에서는 없어서는 안될 중요한 서류이면서, 필수품이다.
도착해서 10일이 지나야 SSN을 발급할 수 있고, 운전면허를 발급하기 위해서는 6점의 점수가 필요하다.
6점을 얻기위해서, 여권 (3), 사회보장번호 (2), BNL 신분증 (1) 를 이용했다. 시험은 한국과 동일하게 written test와 road test 2개로 나누어져 있다. 뉴욕의 경우 20문제가 출제되는데 14개 이상을 맞추어야 통과가 된다.
시험에 합격하면 52.50 $ 를 지불하고 밑에 있는 사진과 같은 서류를 준다. (일종의 임시면허증이다 )

Chemical engineers working at the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign have developed a hydrogen fuel cell that measures only 3 millimeters across. That could mean longer lasting, eco-friendly power for your gadgets.
This new cell utilizes only four components—a water reservoir and a chamber containing metal hydride separated by a thin membrane with an assembly of electrodes that conduct electricity underneath. Because of the small size of the cell, the team was able to eliminate the pump, pressure sensor, and controlling electronics that create such a power drain in typical fuel cells.
The first designs of the cell were capable of generating 0.7 volts and a current of 0.1 milliamps for 30 hours—but they claim that new versions can deliver 1 milliamp at a similar voltage
