South Korean Government Should Immediately Send Emergency Food to North Korea
: Campaign to collect 10,000 Signatures from Overseas Koreans
As the news of death by starvation in North Korea increases, various religious leaders (Christian ministers, Catholic priests, and Buddhist monks etc.) held a conference in Seoul, South Korea on June 2, 2008, and demanded the South Korean Government to immediately pledge 200,000 MT emergency foods to North Korea. Hundred thousands North Koreans, young and old, live on eating water-like porridge on-ce or twice a day, and many of them could not even go to work or school because they are too weak to move. Unless they are fed right away, many more will face death by starvation. They need our help.
Good friends USA, North Korea Aid Mission, and the Washington chapter of Inter-Korea Cooperation Institute (WIKI:남북나눔공동체워싱턴지부), are partnering together to run a national campaign to collect 10,000 signatures of Korean-Americans and other members of our global community and to join the call to the South Korean Government to send emergency food to North Korea.
We need your voice and the voices of your friends, families, colleagues; anyone interested in fighting the growing food crisis in North Korea. Together, we can help stop this crisis.
We urge and welcome any organization to join this campaign.
